World Book Day 2025: Read Your Way

Trinity Academy New Bridge were again involved in this international celebration of reading. The annual event marks the positive aspects of sharing books of all styles and genres and aims to instil a love of reading in our youngsters. Learners were also given tokens which they can redeem at any book shop in exchange for one of a selection of books which have been specially published for the event.

This year’s event was titled Read Your Way, emphasising the idea that reading should happen in a wide range of styles, times and places: It’s not important what or when we read – the important part is that we read.

At school, staff joined in by sharing passages from books which had meant something to them in their youth and lots of the team also got dressed as characters from their chosen books. We had Arthur Dent from The Hitch-Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, James Bond from the books by Ian Fleming, Grogu from the Star Wars Universe and an assortment of witches, wizards and other characters from the Harry Potter series. (There were rumours that we had a Wally in school, but nobody could find him.)

If you wish to use the tokens for a free book, they are valid until the end of April.
