Exams: A Little Bit of Extra Help…
At Trinity Academy New Bridge, all our learners in years 9 to 11 will be taking exams this year in English and Maths to obtain recognised certificates in Functional Skills. Here are our five top tips for effective revision and exam preparation:
- Don’t leave it to the last minute. Star your preparation as soon as you can.
- Make a plan of what to revise – and when. Ask your teacher to help you do this.
- Take time away from your phone. Leave it in a different room for couple of hours.
- Practise. Use your revision books and some of the online resources like past papers to help you.
- Take regular breaks, like taking 15 minutes off after an hour of revision. Your brain needs regular breaks.
As well as the books we’ve given out to learners to help them prepare, there are numerous resources online including past papers to help them understand what to expect.
