Sensory Practitioner Training
Miss Kelly has recently completed ‘Sensory Practitioner Training’, this training is used to upskill staff around the interventions that are already available for our learners with sensory processing difficulties.
The role of a sensory practitioner is to identify learners in need of sensory interventions, once these learners are identified they can have a sensory diet, or take part in a sensory circuit based around their sensory needs. A sensory need comes from when our brain has difficulty receiving and responding to the information from our senses, there are many things that can trigger a sensory need, such as: sound, light, touch, taste and smell.
